If you haven’t been to the conference before, this is us [Belinda + Andrew] with Daniel Flynn, one of our delegates’ favourite speakers in 2017. We’d love to see you in Dubbo this year; new event friends are always welcome!

Regional events are as unique as the communities they come from. Music festivals get their own little twist, events which hero a region’s produce acquire a distinctly local flavour, and then you’ve got those one-of-a-kind events which could only belong to the characters and communities they’re built upon.

We’re all slightly different, but we face similar challenges. The quality and quantity of local accommodation, how to keep your volunteer committee engaged and energised year after year, when to let go or when to reinvigorate, the list goes on and is always evolving.

As King Events, we’ve faced our fair share of these and created the Regional Events Conference (REC) to empower event organisers and communities to tackle these challenges. By bringing together like-minded regional event people, we attempt to make those problems a little less gargantuan, and [hopefully!] a little more manageable.

We wanted to create a conference focused on regional events because no others quite felt right – sometimes you get a little forgotten in the general tourism crowd, event-specific conferences can get a little city-centric... We know exactly what it’s like because we are regional event people – our own events management company is based in Wagga Wagga.

Collaborating on regional projects is what we love, and we think REC might be our best yet!
